What we repair

Nine things off the workshop letterhead, and nothing invented.

BMR is a heavy diesel workshop first. Most of the week is spent on gear that a general garage will not touch, which is exactly why farmers and transport operators around Narrogin ring here.

Trucks

Prime movers and rigids, in the workshop or out where they stopped. Servicing, diagnostics and repairs on the whole driveline.

Trailers

Brakes, bearings, suspension and running gear. If a trailer is pulling up hot or sitting crooked, it gets looked at properly.

Tractors

Wheatbelt tractors through seeding and harvest, when a day off the paddock is the part that actually costs money.

Earthmoving equipment

Excavators, loaders and dozers. Heavy plant is the core of what BMR works on, not a sideline.

Bobcats

Skid steers kept turning, with the hydraulics and attachments they actually run day to day.

Telehandlers

Booms, rams and drivelines on the machines that lift and shift everything else on a site.

4WDs

Utes and 4WDs serviced by people who spend their week on heavier gear. Private vehicles and company fleets both.

Air and hydraulic systems

Air systems, hydraulic circuits, hoses and rams. A specialty of the workshop, listed on their own letterhead.

Suspension work and upgrades for gear that carries weight over rough country and needs to keep doing it.

Mobile field service

Some machines are never coming to town.

BMR started life as Brett Rowe Mobile HD Mechanical Services, and that name is still on the side of the service ute. A mobile set up was the original idea and it is still half the business.

Diesel repairs and servicing get carried out on all types of vehicles and machinery, wherever the machine happens to be. On a paddock, in a yard, or on a job where a tracked excavator was never going to fit on a tilt tray.

For a wheatbelt operator that is the difference between losing an afternoon and losing a week.

The workshop

New shed, same crew.

BMR Mechanical moved into a new workshop at 6 Harbour Street over the Christmas break and opened the doors there on the fifth of January. It sits behind Goodyear Tyres, a couple of minutes off Federal Street.

It is a family run business, and it is not a one man band. Brett heads it up and the reviews keep naming him, but the notices that go up on the shopfront are signed off by Brett and the team, and customers write about the crew and the staff as much as the boss.

The work runs from a caravan with a wheel bearing running hot, through company fleet servicing, up to heavy plant on site. One customer describes BMR as the first person they call when anything mechanical goes wrong, and the preferred choice for their company's service and repairs.

Honest feedback, work that gets put right if it needs putting right, and a phone that gets answered. That is most of what the sixteen reviews are actually about.
